What is cascade FTTH deployment by hardened type connectors?

Cascade FTTH Deployment: A Brief Overview Fiber to the Home (FTTH) networks are essential for providing high-speed internet access directly to residential and business premises. The architecture of an FTTH network significantly impacts its performance, cost, and scalability. One crucial architectural decision involves the placement of optical splitters, which determine where in the network the fiber is split.

Centralized vs. Cascaded Architectures- Centralized Approach:

     1. In the centralized approach, a single-stage splitter (typically a 1x32 splitter) is placed in a central hub (such as a fiber distribution hub or FDH).
     2. The hub can be located anywhere in the network.
     3. The 1x32 splitter connects directly to a GPON (Gigabit Passive Optical Network) Optical Line Terminal (OLT) in the central office.
     4. From the splitter, 32 fibers are routed to individual customers' homes, where they connect to Optical Network Terminals (ONTs).
     5. This architecture connects one OLT port to 32 ONTs.

 Cascaded Approach:

     1. In the cascaded approach, multi-stage splitters (such as 1x4 or 1x8 splitters) are used in a tree-and-branch topology.
     2. For example, a 1x4 splitter may reside in an outside plant enclosure and connect directly to an OLT port.
     3. Each of the four fibers leaving this stage 1 splitter is routed to an access terminal housing a 1x8 stage 2 splitter.
     4. In this scenario, a total of 32 fibers (4x8) reach 32 homes.
     5. It's possible to have more than two splitting stages in a cascaded system, with varying overall split ratios (e.g., 1x16, 1x32, 1x64).

Benefits and Considerations- Centralized Approach:

         1. Pros:

• Simplicity: Fewer splitter stages simplify network design.

• Direct connection: One OLT port connects to multiple ONTs.

         2.  Cons:

• Fiber requirements: Requires more fiber due to direct connections.

• Cost: Higher initial deployment cost.

• Scalability: Limited scalability beyond 32 customers.

- Cascaded Approach:

         1.Pros:

• Fiber efficiency: Requires less fiber due to branching.

• Cost-effectiveness: Lower initial deployment cost.

• Scalability: Easily scalable to more customers.

        2. Cons:

• Complexity: Multiple splitter stages increase complexity.

• Signal loss: Each splitter stage introduces additional loss.

Hardened Type Connectors in FTTH Deployment- Hardened connectors play a crucial role in FTTH deployments:

     1. They eliminate the need for splicing, simplifying installation.
     2. They minimize the technical skills required by labor.
     3. They accelerate and streamline deployments, meeting the demand for flexible and reliable networks.

For this solution, Jera Line prepare four kinds of products which contain the Mini module blockless PLC splitter, fiber optic indoor termination socket, hardened pre-terminated patchcord and fiber optic hardened adapter SC type. Welcome to find more information about our products.
