The Fiber Optic Splice Closure (FOSC), also known as a fiber optic splicing closure, is designed to protect optical fiber splices from moisture, dust, mechanical impact, and environmental conditions during outdoor FTTX network deployment.

Fiber splice closures are widely used in aerial, underground, duct, wall-mounted, and pole-mounted installations, providing reliable protection for straight-through, branching, and mid-span fiber cable connections.

According to installation requirements, fiber splice closures are generally divided into two types:

Fiber Management Design

The FOSC-2D splice closure is designed for efficient fiber organization and long-term protection.

Outdoor fiber optic cables enter the enclosure through sealed cable ports, where fibers are spliced and neatly arranged inside removable splice trays. Each tray securely holds splice protection sleeves while minimizing the risk of accidental fiber damage during installation or maintenance.

The splice trays also support the installation of:

  • One 1:8 blockless PLC splitter
  • Two 1:4 blockless PLC splitters

This integrated splitter design simplifies fiber management and maximizes the available storage space inside the closure.
